The Widow's Court is one of many interesting locations you can visit in Remnant 2. While there, you may notice the corpse of one of the Empress's vanguards. Next to them, there will be an Ornate Key and a note explaining that it fits into a special lockbox.
The body can be in many different places within The Widow's Court, as its placement is random. However, the lockbox is in one specific location that is very hard to find naturally. You don't have to spend hours frantically searching The Widow's Court region to locate it, though. Instead, you can go straight to the following spot.
Where To Find The Ornate Lockbox
You can find the lockbox in The Widow's Court area. Yet, you need to head under the castle to reach it.
There are a couple of routes down. The safest ones are on either side of the main The Widow's Court area.
One side includes some ruins with stairs and slopes for you to go down. The other side is a more elevated area containing ladders to climb and gaps to jump.
Simply keep heading down your chosen side until you reach a place filled with water that is directly under a gateway.
Down here, you will find a chest and a brazier.
Next to the brazier is an illusory wall that you can simply walk through. On the other side of it is a tunnel containing a lift. Step on the elevator to be taken directly to some royal quarters.
Once you enter, you can find the lockbox on top of a table.
What To Do With The Ornate Lockbox
There are a few different things you can do with the Ornate Lockbox once you have your hands on it. Here are your options:
- Open it to find the Thaen Seed inside and plant it in the Ward 13 garden. It will grow into a Mature Thaen Fruit, which can revive you when you die.
- Open it to find the Thaen Seed inside and give it to the Empress in The Red Throne area. In return, you will receive the Burden Of The Rebel ring that reduces skill cooldown at the cost of relic use speed.
- Keep it locked and hand it over to the Empress in The Red Throne area. As a reward, you get the Red Doe Sigil, which increases relic healing effectiveness by 30 percent. That number gets doubled when your health is below 50 percent.
To open the box, inspect it in your inventory before hitting 'interact' and selecting the Ornate Key.
So, you have a few choices when it comes to the box.
