As with most Pokemon games, the idea is that you catch 'em all in Pokemon Sleep, or at least capture as many photos of sleeping Pokemon as you can so to fill out your Sleep Style Dex. During a sleep session, the app tracks how much movement and noise you make while sleeping and will give you a Sleep Type based on the data.

There are three sleep types: Dozing, Snoozing, and Slumbering, although there are actually four results you can get from your Research Data. The Sleep Type you are given dictates what sort of Pokemon appear around Snorlax, so here's what you need to know.

Remember, a sleep session needs to last for a minimum of 90 minutes for you to be able to earn Sleep Research from it.

How To Get The Dozing Sleep Type

You get the Dozing Sleep Type as a result of the app tracking a lot of movement and noise during your sleep session. Snoring is not included in this, but other sounds and sleep-talking contribute.

If you're aiming to get this on a daily "nap session", then try having your phone near you while you are just going about your normal business and talking every now and then.

How To Get The Snoozing Sleep Type

The Snoozing Sleep Type is the result of a sleep session where there is a lot of snoring.

If you want to aim to get this, you could try putting your phone in sleep mode while playing the sound of snoring from YouTube.

How To Get The Slumbering Sleep Type

The Slumbering Sleep Type is given to those who make next to no noise or movement during their sleep session.

If you want some tips for getting this, try shutting your phone in a drawer or cupboard so it can't pick up on any noise or movement while you sleep.

How To Get The Balanced Sleep Type

You get the Balanced Sleep Type if two of your Sleep Percentages are close to one another in percentage. There appears to be at least a 2 percent difference it allows for, as we received a Balanced Type when two types were at 45 percent and 43 percent.

This Sleep Type means Pokemon of any Sleep Type can appear around Snorlax, but it's tricky to purposefully target. If you want to try and achieve this, you could play snoring sounds for half of the time of your allotted "nap", and switch them off for the latter half.

Having a particularly dominant Sleep Type will not cancel out two smaller percentages causing a Balanced Type.

For example, we had Dozing: 17 percent, Snoozing: 66 percent, and Slumbering 17 percent and still received the Balanced Sleep Type.
