With every new patch drop comes a range of items that Final Fantasy 14 players can't wait to get their hands on. We're always used to new mounts, minions, and gear, but every now and then we can an added bonus treat we didn't expect, and for Patch 6.45, that's the Tsukumogami Parasol.

Named after the Japanese folklore of Tsukumogami, inanimate objects that have gained a kami or spirit, this parasol also seems to be inspired by the Kasa-obake, an umbrella yokai. If you want to get your hands on this quirky accessory for your Warrior of Light, here's what you need to know.

How To Get The Tsukumogami Parasol

The Tsukumogami Parasol fashion accessory is a rare loot reward from the Mount Rokkon Variant Dungeon, so it's potluck as to how quickly you'll earn it when completing runs, given the nature of RNG. You can unlock the Mount Rokkon Variant Dungeon by completing the 'Mononoke Aware' quest given by Shallow Moor in Old Sharlayan at (X:12.0, Y:13.3).

Alternatively, you can simply purchase the Tsukumogami Parasol from the Market Board instead and save yourself the trouble. It can be found under the 'Registrable Miscellany' section.

How To Equip Umbrellas

You have to go into your inventory and use the Tsukumogami Parasol item, much like you would for a minion, before you can equip it. Then, under the 'Character' tab, go to 'Fashion Accessories' and you will find a list of any accessories you own.

There, you can select your parasol and equip it, giving you access to a couple of parasol-specific emotes and poses, and you also set it to 'Auto-umbrella', which means your character will automatically equip it when it starts raining in game.
