Studios that own an array of IP have been trying to fill the vacuum left by Super Smash Bros. Ultimate ever since Nintendo confirmed its roster was complete and the fighter reveals ended with Sora. Nickelodeon was one of the first to create a Smash-like game with its own universe of characters, pitting the likes of SpongeBob Squarepants and Reptar from Rugrats against one another. Less than two years later, Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl is getting a sequel.

Announced almost out of nowhere, Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl 2 launches this fall. No firm release date just yet, likely because Ludosity is trying to figure out where to drop its sequel while avoiding big releases like Starfield and Spider-Man 2. What we do know is there are three editions for Nick fans to choose from, and pre-orders for Brawl 2 are live right now. Check out the different editions available below and secure your copy today.

A lot of people just want the game itself when they buy a new game and in this instance, I might well get it more than ever before. It hasn't been all that long since the first Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl, so it might be argued that a sequel dropping so soon isn't going to be all that different from the less-than-two-year-old game that's already out there. If for that reason or any other you want to spend as little on this game as possible because you're cautious but still want to play it, then the Base Edition is your cheapest and best option.

Deluxe Edition

The Deluxe Edition of Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl 2 includes the base game and the season pass. However, it's only available digitally so if you want a physical copy of the game, you'll need the Base Edition.

  • Season Pass

If you already know you're going to be playing Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl 2 for the long haul and buying the Season Pass, you might as well pre-order the Deluxe Edition and save yourself $5. Already confirmed to be included in the Season Pass will be four unrevealed characters being added to the sequel throughout 2024, and you'll also get a premium SpongeBob costume when the game launches. There are a couple of caveats, though. The Deluxe Edition is only available digitally, and that means pre-orders for it will not go live until closer to release day.

Ultimate Edition

The Ultimate Edition not only comes with the game and the Season Pass, but bonus costumes for every single character. Again, this edition is only available digitally so if you want to hold the sequel in your hands, you'll still need to stick to the Base Edition.

Additional Content

  • Season Pass
  • One Exclusive Bonus Costume For Each Character

If you're certain you'll be playing the Nick sequel until Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl 3 is announced, so probably in early 2025 at this rate, then you may as well go all out and pick up the Ultimate Edition. With this edition you get the base game, the Season Pass, so access to those four unrevealed characters and that SpongeBob outfit, but also a bonus costume for each and every character in the game to boot. No confirmation on whether those costumes can be unlocked without buying the Ultimate Edition, but if not, everyone will know you're among the biggest Brawl fans if you pay the $80 for this one and sport looks others may never have access to.

Season Pass

The Season Pass is available to buy separately if you want the game but don't want to commit to it long-term. You'll save money by buying a special edition and getting this thrown in, but the option is there.

  • Season Pass

If you plan on buying the base game and then it hooks you in, don't worry, Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl 2's Season Pass can be bought separately. That will get you all of the same content as the one included with the Deluxe and Ultimate Editions, so the four unannounced characters being added to the roster throughout 2024. You will also get the premium SpongeBob costume available at launch which will presumably unlock for you upon purchase of the Season Pass if you decide to take the game for a spin first and then buy it at a later date.
