An alleged leak for Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl 2 shows off a new taunt and alternate outfit for SpongeBob and suggests that there will be even more memes this time around.
Easily one of the worst-kept secrets in gaming right now is that Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl is getting a sequel at some point. The rumours began earlier this year after a leak popped up showing Squidward as a playable character, as well as a new model for Danny Phantom and a new special move for Patrick. This was then followed up by the cover art leaking and revealing several more new characters, and El Tigre's creator basically confirming that the game was in development by sharing a leak of the character and saying "look who's back".
Things have been surprisingly quiet since that big leak all but revealed that Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl 2 was a thing, but it looks like things are picking back up again while we wait for an official announcement. This time around we've been given a better look at returning fighter SpongeBob, who appears to have a new taunt and alternate costume.
In a similar manner to the last few leaks, the images were randomly shared on the All-Star Brawl subreddit with an unrelated caption, in this case, "Just the two of them". The images, which come from Redditor Sure-Dentist-1712, show Spongebob doing the "Tired SpongeBob" meme (although thankfully clothed this time around) and dashing while wearing a Kamp Koral costume, which is likely a new alternate outfit for him.
This leak might not be as massive as the El Tigre one was, but there are some things that we can take away from the images. For starters, it's clear that All-Star Brawl 2 will be just as meme-focused as the last game, which was especially apparent with the SpongeBob characters. Secondly, it seems that characters will have more than one alternate costume each this time around, as SpongeBob already had his alternate outfit from the last game, which was Smitty Werbenjägermanjensen's soda hat.
It's also worth noting that, like most of the returning characters we've seen so far, it looks like SpongeBob has been given a bit of a graphical upgrade, which can be seen mostly in how bright and colourful his face is. As for the validity of the leak, it does follow the same format as the last few that have been shared, including having the same background, so it does seem like it could be legitimate. It's also small-fry compared to the El Tigre leak, which means it'd be a pretty strange thing for someone to take the time to fake.
