Quick Links
Genshin Impact is a huge open-world action role-playing game in which you take on the role of The Traveler, exploring the world of Teyvat, looking for their sibling. Along the way, you'll collect new characters via the gacha system, as you build a party that can face the challenges in store.
There are weapons and artifacts to grind for, abilities and character combinations to master, and a range of bosses to defeat. Currently, there are four regions of Teyvat unlocked; Mondstadt, Liyue, Inazuma, and Sumeru. There are also two sub-regions; Dragonspine and The Chasm. With so much to see and do it can feel overwhelming. That's why we've got you covered with a huge and ever-increasing range of guides to help you get the most out of Genshin Impact.
Current And Upcoming Banners
Genshin Impact always has a permanent banner, Wanderlust Invocation, that uses Acquaint Fate (blue wishes), as well as one to two limited-time banners that use Intertwined Fate (purple wishes). For those new to the game, you may want to read our gacha system guide which covers wish types, the pity system, and the epitomized path system.

All event end dates are inclusive and events will end at server reset time at the end of the specified day.
You can now 'quick start' and still do events without completing all the pre-requisite quests, although you still need to meet the Adventure Rank requirements, and may need to have unlocked specific areas. Just be aware that if you use the quick start function you will likely meet characters without context and may need to clear other quests if they include the same characters.
All events have a range of standard rewards including Primogems, Mora, Crowns of Insight, Hero's Wit, and Enhancement Ore. Many also offer talent books and other ascension materials usually only found in domains.

Getting Started In Genshin Impact
Genshin Impact can seem like an overwhelming game, but its early quests will guide you through the basic mechanics of learning to play and assembling a team to help you explore Teyvat. You'll also be introduced to your player character, who is a twin. You play as either Aether, or his sister Lumine. Whichever you choose you will be known as The Traveler, and your journey will be the same, requiring you to find your sibling who you've been separated from.
Along the way you'll gather new party members, face a range of enemies, and build your strength through new weapons, artifacts, and levels. Below is a range of easy-to-read guides explaining Genshin Impact's basics, including travel mechanics, Adventure Ranks, and more.
-
Waypoints And Statues Of The Seven
Initially, you'll explore on foot, but soon you'll be able to unlock Teleport Waypoints and Statues of the Seven, which allow fast travel. Here's where you can find them and how to use them.
-
Multiplayer Options
Multiplayer or co-op mode can be enabled in Genshin Impact so that you can travel to other worlds, or invite friends into your own. Domains and other content can also be played with friends. However, there are some restrictions that are covered in these guides.
-
Adventure Ranks
Your Adventure Rank, sometimes referred to as AR, is a measure of your experience in Genshin Impact. Early ranks go quite quickly as you explore the world and find your feet, but later ranks are far more difficult to obtain. Many limited-time events are gated by having an Adventure Rank of 20, so you'll want to try and hit this early to take part. Here's how.
-
Unique Feature Guides
There are many unique features in Genshin Impact and these guides cover the basics. We talk Elemental Resonance, Currency, Friendships, Kameras, and more. Understanding these mechanics will help you along the way.
-
Sojourner's Battle Pass And Gnostic Hymn
Every month Genshin Impact has a free battle pass system known as the Sojourner's Battle Pass. You'll earn experience for completing specific tasks in the game, both one-offs and repeatable daily tasks. There are 50 levels to complete, and you can earn Acquaint Fate, Mora, Hero's Wit, Adventurer's Experience, Fragile Resin and Enhancement Ore.
Gnostic Hymn is a purchasable upgrade that gives a second tier of rewards. These include more Fragile Resin, Enhancement Ore, Experience, and Mora, as well as Primogems, Intertwined Fate and exclusive weapons.
Here's everything else you need to know.

Weekly Bosses, World Bosses, And Domains
There are three types of challenges that you'll want to take on frequently if you are looking to maximize your character's potential. They are weekly bosses, world bosses, and domains - which can also be split into one-time and resettable domains.
Weekly bosses provide materials to level up talents to full, while world bosses provide character leveling materials. You'll also want to explore domains. One-time domains tend to reward keys that allow access to treasure chests, and primogems. Repeatable domains are where you can find artifacts for your character.
-
Weekly Bosses
These weekly bosses are located in Trounce Domains which can be defeated either solo or in a group once per week. It costs 30 Original Resin to claim rewards from the first three each week, and 60 for the rest. The domains reset every Monday at 4am server time.
Weekly bosses reward Northlander Billets for weapon crafting, as well as high-level character ascension materials. Alongside these, you'll get experience and Mora as usual.
-
World Bosses
Around Teyvat you'll encounter a number of different world bosses. Many are elemental-themed and respawn quickly, usually within five minutes of you being outside their immediate spawn area. These world bosses reward character ascension materials and some artifact sets. You'll need 40 Original Resin to claim each reward.
The most common ones are Hypostasis, and Regisvine types.Hypostasis bosses take the primary form of a cube, which transforms as abilities are unleashed, while the Regisvines look like giant plants. There are also a wide range of other bosses including mechanical and geovishap variants.
-
One-Time And Challenge Domains
Aside from the Trounce Domains, which reset each week, there are two other Domain types, One-Off and Challenge. The One-Off Domains are usually locked behind puzzles and offer rewards including Priomogems, but only the first time they are completed. You can run them again, but you won't be rewarded for it. Challenge Domains on the other hand you'll want to frequently run since these are where you'll find Artifact Sets.
These guides will help you find and defeat Teyvat's different domains.
-
Spiral Abyss
Spiral Abyss is a partially resetting challenge. Floors one to eight remain the same and can be defeated once for rewards including primogems. Floors nine and above will reset on the first and sixteenth of each month to provide a new challenge. Here's what you need to know.
-
-
Weapons, Artifacts, And Elements
Each character uses one of the five different types of weapons available in the game; bow, catalyst, claymore, polearm, or sword. Bows and catalysts are ranged weapons, while the others are melee. All characters use one weapon type, with the notable exception of Tartaglia (Childe) who wields a bow, yet has an elemental skill that allows him to create and use swords made out of water.
Every playable character also has an elemental type. These influence the abilities they have and how they react with different enemies as well as the surrounding environment. Each element can react with others to create stronger swings and provide other benefits.
These weapons and skills are then complimented and enhanced by artifacts. There are a wide range of artifact sets that focus on boosting elemental damage, increasing health and defense, and improving other secondary stats.
Here's everything you need to know about weapons, elements, and artifacts.
-
Weapon Rankings
These rankings showcase the best weapons you can find in Teyvat. As well as general rankings we also have specific guides for each playable character.
-
Artifacts And Elements
Artifact sets can be confusing to understand, and are often tied directly to the elemental type of your characters. Due to this we've put our artifact guide together with our elemental guides. These will help you understand how elemental reactions work, and how artifacts can compliment them.
-
-
Cooking, Crafting, And Fishing
Cooking, crafting, and fishing are key parts of Genshin Impact. You can cook food using items purchased in cities, foraged from the world, or a combination of the two. These foods can help boost stats, restore health and revive fallen characters. Crafting also requires purchased or collected items and can help you gain weapons, upgrade raw materials, and more. Fishing combines the two providing fish for crafting as well as some which can be exchanged for weapons and other goods.
These guides will help you understand the differences, the advantages, and the processes involved in all these essential activities.
-

Exploration And Environment
There are four main regions in Teyvat to explore: Mondstadt, Liyue, Inazuma, and Sumeru. These are each ruled by a specific elemental Archon, namely Ameno, Geo, Electro, and Dendro respectively. There are also two smaller regions within these; Dragonspine that sits between Mondstandt and Liyue, and The Chasm which is between Liyue and Sumeru.
As you venture across the world you'll notice a large number of environmental puzzles, as well as quests to unlock specific parts of the region. Inazuma even has a quest chain you'll need to follow in order to get to it. There are also some region-specific mechanics, including Dragonspine's Sheer Cold, and Frostbearing tree. These guides will help you through each region covering unlockable areas, collectibles, and environmental puzzles.
-
Mondstadt
Mondstadt is the first region you encounter, and their god is the Ameno Archon, Lord Barbatos, who now takes the form of Venti, a lovable bard.
-
Liyue
Liyue is the second region to be unlocked, and they follow the Geo Archon, Morax. You'll also encounter him, in the form of a playable character and loser of his wallet, Zhongli.
-
Liyue's Geoculus Locations - Quiongji Estuary
-
Dragonspine
Dragonspine is located just beyond the Southern borders of Mondstadt and is considered to be part of Liyue. It's a frozen area with some unique mechanics and an interesting history.
-
The Chasm
The Chasm is located on the Western border of Liyue and is essentially a huge chasm between Liyue and Sumeru. The area has its own history, outlined through a quest chain.
-
-

-
Inazuma
Inazuma is an inaccessible region initially, unlocking as you explore the story of the Electro Archon, Raiden Shogun. All regions have story quests and lore but Inazuma was the first to require players to explore the story in order to access the islands.
-
Sumeru
Sumeru has a complicated relationship with its Archons. The original Dendro Archon, Greater Lord Rukkhadevata, was killed during the cataclysm. Most residents now worship a new Dendro Archon, Lesser Lord Kussanali.
-
-
Quests And Hangouts
Alongside the environmental puzzles, world bosses, and Domains, Teyvat is also packed with quests. There are daily, reputation, world, story, and Archon quests. The daily quests, known as commissions, can be done in any region, and reward reputation for that area, as well as Primogems. Weekly reputation quests can boost this, allowing you to unlock region-specific rewards. Doing daily quests also allows you to collect keys to unlock story quests and character hangouts - branching quest chains that allow you to adventure with different Teyvat residents.
Story and Archon quests both contain the bulk of Teyvat's lore. Story quests tend to focus on individual people's tales, while the Archon quests chart Traveler's journey to find their sibling. Finally, World quests are scattered around each region and are usually stand-alone.
These guides will help you navigate the challenges of Teyvat.
-
Daily Commissions
Each day you'll have four Daily Commissions for your selected region. Once you complete them all you can speak to Katheryne for an extra reward.
-
Weekly Reputation Quests
