Superheroes and video games are all the rage, with film after film coming out to pad out cinematic universes and games only growing more popular as the years go by. However, wouldn't it be a fun thought experiment to wonder just what superheroes get up to in their downtime? Well, if our world has video games, then certainly their worlds probably do too.
Although that just raises another question, what kinds of video games would superheroes play? Would they enjoy a superhero game based on themselves? Or do they get up to some games that are a little more surprising in their downtime?
10 Superman Enjoys A Different Kind Of City Skylines
Superman may come across as a simple superhero, but he is our superhero and one of the most recognizable ones in the world. However, beneath the tough exterior of the Man of Steel is the lovable and kind farmboy Clark Kent, and it's easy to guess just what his favourite game could be.
Oddly enough, between some casual play of Mario Kart and even some Wii Sports, Superman enjoys a different kind of city skyline at home with City Skylines. Come on, after years of saving a city and seeing it get often destroyed, it would be nice for the hero to just sit back and build a city that is free from supervillainous threats that could wipe out downtown.
9 Batman Is On The Case With Ace Attorney
The brooding hero from Gotham is also the world's greatest detective. Though we can imagine Batman plays some games like those Sherlock Holmes mysteries, his favourite video game series is the Ace Attorney series. He is the type to do something related to his work during downtime, so nothing is more perfect than relaxing with some detective work as the lovable lawyer Phoenix Wright.
8 Spider-Man Would Love Marvel's Spider-Man
This isn't to say Spider-Man is cocky, but he is certainly one of the more relatable heroes, and what's more relatable than playing your superhero game if you were a hero? He would definitely be the type to judge just how accurate Marvel's Spider-Man would be, probably coming out pleasantly surprised at how good the game is.
The story, on the other hand, is where Spidey would find some issues, but hey, he'd likely love the game either way. Though he would probably be wondering, just who is Miles Morales?
7 Iron Man Had A World Of Warcraft Phase
Ah, now on to a hero who is actually known for their ego. However, we think we know just what Tony Stark did before he became a superhero and what he mostly plays after.
Tony Stark seems like the typical guy who had a World of Warcraft phase. Though thankfully, he gave up on it years ago, as it was taking up too much time for a while. Now he'd be more of a casual gamer instead, enjoying VR titles or the Grand Theft Auto series in his downtime.
6 Wonder Woman Loves A Good Fight In Mortal Kombat
Wonder Woman may be on the Justice League, but that doesn't mean she's a goody-two-shoes like her companion Superman. Diana is one of the best hand-to-hand combatants in her universe, so of course, when she gets to the outside world, she would love a fighting game like Mortal Kombat.
Since she's been around, she's probably been a fan of the entire series and has played most of the mainline games. Her favourite character is Kitana, of course.
5 Captain America Is A Bit Basic With Wii Sports
Oh, Steve Rogers, the moral and muscular super soldier is a man out of his own time. If you thought that the world's reaction to motion controls with Wii Sports was a lot, then you can imagine just how shocked Captain America would be.
However, even despite the Wii U and Nintendo Switch coming out, Steve would love to do some exercise with Wii Sports, even though it's probably not that effective, and he really doesn't need it. Still, it's cute how he would dust off his Nintendo Wii to go back to the game, even years later.
4 Bruce Banner Is The Best Builder In Minecraft
Bruce Banner wouldn't really one for video games, but that was until he became The Hulk. After trying to find some new hobbies to help him remain calm, he eventually stumbled onto Minecraft and fell in love with the building and redstone engineering possibilities.
Now he spends time on the game to relax and is in love with all the things you can do with redstone. Someone might just want to make sure he wouldn't install too many mods though.
3 Captain Marvel Relaxes With Animal Crossing
If there's one game that Captain Marvel needs, it's something long-term that she can play in between travelling all over the galaxy and helping people around the universe. It seems that Animal Crossing then would be the perfect game.
Carol would love to handle her village and spend some time befriending the villagers. Since the game is such a long-term investment, it would be perfect for her to play day in and day out throughout her adventures.
2 Doctor Strange Is A Fan Of The Classics
Unlike most heroes, Doctor Strange would probably be a fan of more of the classic games, loving ones that have a lot of depth. Though he probably isn't one to find much interest in games, he does still find time to play something like the original Fallout game or Fallout 2.
He doesn't even try newer titles most of the time unless it really interests him, and even then he would rarely play the games he has.
1 Thor Wants To Fight The God Of War
As the God of Thunder, Thor is definitely one to be curious about how Asgardians and Norse mythology is portrayed in the modern human world. So he would definitely play the new God of War reboot. Thor would really enjoy the combat and the story, probably claiming that regular humans have an interesting imagination.
Though he knows the game is inaccurate and would be amused by the Thor that appears in God of War: Ragnarök, he'd still love it all and would definitely hope he could give someone like Kratos a real fight.
