Fallout 76 is celebrating 15 million players with a brand new expedition - and it's kinda giving us New Vegas vibes. At least in its aesthetic anyway, as the next expansion will take us to Atlantic City, complete with a bunch of casinos and 1940s America cosplay.

Not too many details were shared about the expedition, with most of the Fallout 76 portion of the Xbox Games Showcase focussing on this huge playerbase milestone. But we did get a good look at Atlantic City's visuals, and it's looking quite different to what we've seen in the game so far.

Check out the trailer below, which gives us a look at Atlantic City towards the end. There isn't too much to see right now, but there are new locations and even new enemies to take on in this expansion, whenever it launches.

The Atlantic City update is listed as "coming soon", so it's not clear when it will actually be available to players. But judging from the footage so far, development is going well, so we'll have to keep an ear out for any further updates.

This is quite the turnaround for Fallout 76, as I don't think many of us would have expected to see the MMO still up and running almost five years on. After such a disastrous launch, with almost every aspect of the release going wrong, many companies would have thrown in the towel. But Bethesda persisted, delivering updates that have slowly shifted the perception of the game - even if many of us would rather the studio spent more time on Fallout 5. Or, at the very least, let another developer take the reigns once again. C'mon guys, Obsidian is right there! You're both owned by Microsoft and everything!

That being said, Obsidian is pretty busy too. We got another Avowed trailer at today's showcase, revealing that it will be a 2024 release. While that is still pretty far away, it looks like a huge game. It's also being developed alongside The Outer Worlds 2 - which was a no-show this year - and ongoing support for Pentiment.

Unfortunately for single-player Fallout fans, that pretty much rules out our chances of getting Fallout 5 anytime soon. As well as supporting Fallout 76 and The Elder Scrolls Online, Bethesda is also going all in on Starfield, and after that, most likely The Elder Scrolls 6.

In any case, the Atlantic City update doesn't have a release date, but it's expected sometime later this year. Fallout 76 is available on Xbox and PC via Game Pass, but is also available to buy on both of these platforms, as well as PlayStation.
