With each update, Genshin Impact launches a bunch of events that are the main source of Primogems for the free-to-play and low-spending players. Some of these events also feature time-limited areas that go away when the next version update drops, and you can't get the exploration Primogems from these areas after they're gone.
Secret Summer Paradise is one of these events that brought along the Veluriyan Mirage area in the Version 3.8 update. After finishing certain parts of this event and the area's exploration, you can get outfits for Kaeya and a free Layla. Klee also got a new outfit during the same update.
How To Unlock Secret Summer Paradise Event
If you're new to Genshin Impact, you might have to go through quite a long procedure before you can start playing this event. Firstly, everyone needs to finish the "Song of the Dragon and Freedom" archon quest, which is the last quest of the Prologue. At the end of this quest, you'll solve the crisis in Mondstadt and start heading over to Liyue.
This is the requirement for the event, which means you can't start it until you finish the Mondstadt arc of the main story.
Other than that, the game also recommends that you finish the following quests:
Akasha Pulses, The Kalpa Flame Rises | This is the final quest of Sumeru Arc where you will finally solve the main crisis in the region. Sumeru is the most recent area of Genshin Impact, so it'll take you a long time to get to this quest if you've recently started playing. |

Act I of Eula Story Quest | You can do this quest roughly after you finish the Mondstadt arc. You need to unlock the story quests by using a key, which you can get by finishing your Daily Commissions for two days. |
Act I of Sangonomiya Kokomi's Story Quest | This story quest can only be played after you finish the Inazuma arc of the main story, which is the third region. |
You can still start the event even if you don't have any of the above quests done by pressing the "Quick Start" button on the event page. Although, you'll be seeing characters that you haven't seen in the main story and you might also get spoiled about a few things.
How To Reach Veluriyam Mirage
To reach the time-limited area, you'll have to start the first part of the event quest called "An Invitation From Afar". This will take you to the Knights of Favonius headquarters where you'll meet Jean, Kaeya, and Klee. They'll tell you that Klee's mother has invited her to a special place and that she also has a magic envelope.
This envelope will teleport you directly to Sumeru where Eula and Collei will join your party. In the end, you'll be able to enter the Mirage through a bottle that you'll find in the desert. The first part of the quest will be pretty straightforward, but you might get stuck on the second part since it has a few puzzles.
The next portion contains some spoilers about the second event quest.
When you enter the main stage of the Fairgrounds in the second quest, you'll have to rotate a few lights and fit certain Brilliant Mirrors in them to raise the Crystal Light. The first one is simple since the game marks everything you need with a yellow icon. Make sure you claim the chest after solving the first puzzle.
This is an exclusive domain that you can't enter again once you're done with the quest, so you won't be able to claim the chests inside later.
On the second puzzle, you'll see two lights marked with the yellow icon. Ignore the first light for now and head over to the second one on the other side of the Crystal Light. Rotate it and place one of the prisms nearby inside. This will remove a curtain and the revealed water droplet will create a Preprint Projector.
Before entering the projector screen, make sure you take the second Brilliant Mirror near the light that you just fixed. Enter the projector screen and interact with the first hat near you. This will lead you to another screen with three hats apart from the one you came out of. Interact with the first hat on your way and follow the path to get the chest here.
Once again, this is a chest that you can't get after finishing the quest. Now, head back out to the four-hat screen and interact with the last hat on the right side. This will take you to the final door, which will spawn you back on the other side of the area. You can then put the Brilliant Mirror inside the first light.
For the final part, you just have to make sure that you directly go to the second light to your left and not rotate the first light. You'll find two Brilliant Mirrors here, which you can fit in a light each. This will activate the Projector near the second light. In this projector, you have to jump at the correct time to dodge the rolling items and reach the door.
Fit the blue Brilliant Mirror in the nearby light and you'll be able to get past this quest.
How To Get Kaeya And Klee Outfits
The new outfits of Kaeya and Klee might be the main reason you want to play this event, but unfortunately, you can only get one of them for free. Whenever a new area is released in Genshin Impact, there are a bunch of chests and collectibles in it. For Veluriyam Mirage, these items will give you Joyeux Vouchers.
Taking a floating collectible will give you four vouchers while opening every chest gives you one. You need a total of 150 Joyeux Vouchers to unlock the Kaeya outfit on the event screen. You can also get rewards every time you get 30 vouchers, and getting 90 of them will unlock a special gadget.
This gadget can reveal all the chests and collectibles in a small area around you whenever you activate it.
If you miss out on the event, you can still get the Kaeya outfit, but you'll have to buy it using real money. It can be found in the Character Outfits section when you click on the shop. This is the same place where you'll find the Klee outfit during and after the event. Although, there's a discount on this outfit during the event.
You can buy it for 1350 Genesis Crystals during the event, and both outfits will cost 1680 crystals once it ends.
How To Get Free Layla
Once you finish the second quest of the Secret Summer Paradise event, you'll unlock a segment in the main event screen called Attractions. This area will consist of four mini-games with multiple parts each. Whenever you finish a part of any of these mini-games, you'll get a currency called Fascinating Phenocrysts.
On the main event page, you'll find a Night Star's Promise section to the left, just below Klee. As you get here, you'll learn that Layla will unlock after you get 1200 of these Phenocrysts. Moreover, you can get Primogems and many other rewards every time you get 300 of them.
Here's a general description of the things you need to do for each mini-game:
Spino Blaster | This mini-game will take you to a water cannon's perspective and you'll see a bunch of balloons in front of you. You simply have to shoot the right balloons and get as many points as you can before the time expires. Some balloons can also have negative effects on your score, so make sure you read their descriptions. |

Sojourns Of The Barking Fox | If you've met Sorush during your Genshin Impact endeavors, this mini-game will be very familiar. You'll take the role of a small flying animal, and you simply have to pass certain rings to get the maximum score. |
Dance Of Flashing Thought | This is a combat event where the bar on top of your screen will recharge when you defeat opponents. Once it's fully charged, you will see a light surrounding your character. Enemies entering this light will take a ton of damage. |
Bing-Bang Finchball | In this mini-game, you have to shoot some balls on a board. You get scores depending on the area your ball lands on. Try to hit the smallest area and you'll get the highest score. |
