For your Pokemon to evolve they need to reach a certain level, and each Pokemon will have a specific level they need to be able to evolve. For example, for Squirtle to evolve, they must first reach level 12.

If you want to evolve your Pokemon, you need to focus on leveling up, and the primary way to do this is through sleep tracking.

Additionally, certain candies and evolution stones will be needed to make your Pokemon evolve, and the higher the Pokemon's level, the more items you will require to move up to the next stage.

Once your chosen Pokemon has the correct level and the right number of candy and stones, you can make them evolve. To evolve your Pokemon helper, click on the one you want and select 'Evolve'.

To see what requirements are needed, select the evolve button under your Pokemon. This will show you the ingredients and experience points needed to evolve.

The Best Ways To Level Up Your Pokemon

There are a couple of ways to level up your Pokemon, which you'll need to do if you wish to eventually evolve them. Here's what you need to know.

Sleep Sessions

The best way to level up your Pokemon is by completing sleep research sessions. You can record yourself taking an afternoon nap or having a full night's sleep to gain a sleep score that will grant you experience points. The better the sleep you have, the more points.

Once you have a certain amount of experience points, your Pokemon will reach their next level and get one step closer to the level they need to evolve.

Your sleep sessions must be at least 90 minutes to count, and you can only have two sleep sessions per day.

Your Pokemon will level up sooner if you ensure you keep participating in sleep sessions regularly. However, when you first start, you will need at least seven sleep entries before you can begin to level up your Pokemon.

Growth Incense can double your Pokemon's experience points during a sleep session. This can be purchased from the General Store for 200 Diamonds.

Pokemon Candy

Pokemon Candy is essential for evolving, and each Pokemon will have its own specific candy it needs to evolve. However, you can also use it to level up your Pokemon if you wish to. Throughout the game, there are several ways to find them.

  • Discovering sleep styles after a sleep session.
  • Interacting with a Pokemon helper while they are on-screen in the field.
  • By sending them back to Professor Neroli.

If you send your Pokemon back to Professor Neroli in exchange for Pokemon Candy, you will not be able to get them back.

Handy Candy can also be purchased for 160 Sleep Points from the General Store or by completing Missions. This candy gives you more experience points, which then helps you level up.

If you want to level up your Pokemon with Candy, you'll also need Dream Shards to combine with the Candy you're spending.

There are multiple ways to gain dream shards. We have a full guide on how to get Dream Shards here.
