It seems that the long-rumoured announcement of a Red Dead Redemption remaster or remake might be imminent, as a font has been discovered on the Rockstar Newswire that will seemingly be used for its reveal.

Ever since Red Dead Redemption 2 featured a great deal of reworked content from the original game, such as whole areas from the original map and updated character models for characters like John, Uncle, and Bonnie, it's been rumoured that Rockstar might remake or remaster Red Dead Redemption. Over the past few months, those rumours have hit a fever pitch, with new bits of evidence being spotted every day that indicate that something is close to happening.

The biggest bit of evidence for the announcement was shared earlier this week, as an updated logo for the game was spotted on Rockstar's website, changing the game's title to "Rockstar Games Presents Red Dead Redemption". That made it seem clear-cut that something was happening, but even more evidence has now been found over on the Rockstar Newswire.

As pointed out by Twitter user videotechx and originally discovered by Hubfex and TezFunz2, the Rockstar Newswire website was updated late last night to add a new Red Dead Redemption font that can be used for titles on news posts. The font is called "RDRUltraHeadline" and can already be used to set up example posts using the inspect element.

Although the font looks pretty standard for something to do with Red Dead Redemption and doesn't really give much away, the fact that the Rockstar Newswire has been updated specifically to add this font indicates that it's going to be used in the near future, giving much more credence to the rumours that the Red Dead Redemption remake is going to be announced in the near future.

After sharing the font, videotechx noted that, although we're definitely getting closer to an announcement of some kind with each new bit of evidence that pops up, that doesn't mean that it's definitely going to happen very soon, as it could just be Rockstar setting up to make the announcement in the future and it's still going to take some time. Some are predicting that it's going to be announced before Take-Two's earnings call, but that remains to be seen.

The current theory is that the remake will be announced at some point in August, and that the font discovered here will be used on a website that replaces the old Red Dead Redemption one. There's evidence that the new Red Dead Redemption website will actually be repurposing the one used for GTA Online.
