Final Fantasy 14's next big expansion, Dawntrail, has been revealed at Las Vegas Fan Fest and is currently scheduled to release in Summer 2024.

Today marks the start of one of the year's biggest fan celebrations of Final Fantasy 14 - Las Vegas Fan Fest. While tickets were incredibly hard to come by, those of you who were lucky enough to attend were just given a big treat in the form of the reveal of the game's next big expansion, which is titled Dawntrail and takes players across The New World, Tural.

The trailer for the expansion that was shared at the event by the game's producer, Naoki Yoshida, showed a sunny beach setting which was later confirmed in the trailer to be The New World, Tural. The overall vibe of Dawntrail certainly seems different from what we've seen in previous expansions for Final Fantasy 14, showing plenty of beaches, sunny skies, and seas, all while cheerful music playing in the background.

After the trailer showed a ship sailing across the sea, it shows a glimpse of the Warrior of Light's new look (as well as him smiling for once!) before revealing that he's adventuring with Erenville. We then saw more shots of Tural, giving us a better look at the areas that we're going to be visiting in the expansion. Before the trailer ends, we get to see Meteor takes off his hood and shows off a much cleaner look than he's had throughout the rest of Final Fantasy 14, which people are, of course, already simping over.

Following the trailer's release, Yoshi-P continued to give more details about what's going to be included in the expansion, several of which have since been shared by the official Final Fantasy 14 Twitter account. Some of the highlights include the fact that the level cap is finally going to be increased to Level 100 and that two new DPS jobs are going to be added, which were actually teased in the trailer itself.

It's also been confirmed that the theme colour for Dawntrail is gold, which is made clear by the logo, and that, although there will certainly be tension in the expansion, Yoshi-P wants it to feel like the "best summer vacation ever".

Another interesting detail that was confirmed at Fan Fest is that Dawntrail is going to bring Final Fantasy 14's first graphical upgrade. The official FF14 Twitter account shared various shots of the game with the graphical update compared to how it currently looks, noting that the team is "introducing improvements to texture resolutions and material qualities while keeping all the familiar aspects".
