Epic Games CEO Tim Sweeney has finally addressed the prolonged absence of Travis Scott in Fortnite, claiming the rapper is "welcome" but isn't aware of deals with brands and celebrities when it comes to the Item Store.

Longtime Fortnite fans will know that Travis Scott held a concert in Fortnite back in 2020. The Astronomical concert featured a performance from Scott, along with the release of a Icon Series skin to celebrate the event. This skin was a seemingly one-time release, subsequently becoming one of the rarest skins in the game as Scott hasn't returned for another performance since.

While it was never confirmed, many assumed the rapper and his corresponding Icon Series skin had been blacklisted due to the tragic events that took place during the Astroworld concert that took place in 2021. Scott was recently in court and cleared of criminally responsibility for a crowd crush that killed 10 people and injured thousands more, with a judge declaring that "a tragedy isn't always a crime".

Now that Scott has been cleared of criminal charges, his fans are now calling on Epic Games and Tim Sweeney to bring him back to Fortnite in celebration of the release of his new album Utopia. Neither Epic Games or Scott himself have shown any interest in putting on another concert, and despite Sweeney stating that there is no blacklist on Scott returning, you'd imagine that Epic Games wouldn't want to invite a potential controversy of this nature upon itself so readily.

For now, fans will have to settle for the recent Futurama crossover that is celebrating the return of the series once again. Not only does the crossover feature skins of main characters, Fry, Bender, and Leela, but it also contains a whole bunch of references that any fan of the show will get a kick out of. For example, Fry's melee weapon is a reference to the episode "Clawwpachk" in which he's forced to fight Zoidberg to the death.

On top of that, there's also a new powerful weapon that can be found on The Island, one that runs on a cooldown rather than ammunition. Grabbing it will be rather tricky though, as "Bender's Shiny Metal Ray Gun" will be guarded by none of other than Bender Rodriguez himself, who you'll need to take down to acquire it.
