It's going from bad to worse for Blizzard, as the latest patch for Diablo 4 continues to irk hardcore fans. Earlier this week, Blizzard released the first patch for Diablo 4 right before the start of the game's Season of the Malignant, one which heavily nerfed every single class the game currently has to offer and has made Sorcerers pretty much unviable for the end game, despite it already being the weakest class.

It hasn't gone down particularly well with fans, as you'll find the game's subreddit filled with angry fans either claiming they're going to delete the game, or criticising Blizzard for making the game more of a grind and more of a chore. Fans are pretty angry, and if you've kept up with the gaming industry for any length of time, you'll know exactly where a passionate fanbase goes when it needs to vent its anger - that's right, the game's Metacritic page.

Diablo 4's user rating on Metacritic already wasn't too great thanks to its wonky launch and early server issues, but it's now plummeted even further thanks to the reception of this latest patch. At the time of writing, negative user reviews for Diablo 4 are still pouring in, as the game is currently sat at a score of 3.5 and steadily dropping.

If you check out the user reviews and sort by date, you'll see hundreds of negative reviews logged today criticizing the developers for the game being boring, calling for refunds, and pointing out Blizzard's lack of care for the Diablo fanbase. You'll also find that the majority of these new reviews are referencing the game's patch directly, showing that this is a reaction to Blizzard's latest shenanigans rather than just normal reviews.

Thankfully, Diablo's global community development director Adam Fletcher has announced that the team will be holding a Campfire Chat on Friday this week to address some of the criticism and issues, though fans seem to have very low hopes for anything substantial. Most just seem to want an apology out of Blizzard and the promise that it will change things soon, though there's no telling whether Diablo 4 players will have the patience to wait until Season 2 for Blizzard to get is act together.
