Have you ever wondered, just how uncommon is it for these events to occur? Here are some of the rarest random events which occur in Stardew Valley, ranked from most common to most unlikely.

With the final big updates including peak perfection and some explanations for our biggest questions, it makes sense that a few more ultra rare events were made available to find. Good luck unlocking and finding them all.

15 The Marriage Candidates Stage A Confrontation

Harvey talks to the player in the Stardrop Saloon along with the other marriage candidates

As you got to know all of Stardew Valley's bachelors and bachelorettes, have you ever wondered, "Do the other townsfolk know I'm dating Penny and Maru at the same time?" While there are technically no consequences for obtaining multiple hearts with each of the bachelors and bachelorettes, the story changes after you hit ten hearts with all the marriage candidates.

If you enter the Stardrop Saloon after achieving ten hearts with all the Pelican Town guys, they will confront you around the pool table for your infidelity. At ten hearts with all the bachelorettes, anytime you enter Haley and Emily's house before 8pm will trigger a similar event.

14 Pierre Beats Up Morris

Stardew Valley Inside Community Center Watching Pierre Punch Morris

One of the first big goals the townsfolk set up for you is to restore the Community Center to its former glory. It used to be a place for locals to hang out, read and socialize, but it fell into disrepair and Lewis is tempted to sell it to Joja as a storage area.

However, if you become one of the 20 percent of players to complete all the bundles requested by the Junimos, not only will you receive a snazzy trophy for your farm, but you can watch a secret cut scene unfold. Joja Mart is openly undercutting Pierre's prices at his General Store, and it's at the grand reopening of the Community Center that Pierre finally confronts Morris and gives him the old one two!

13 Green Creature Sighting

A green creature lurks in the ocean just below Willy's dock

If you are very lucky, you might catch a glimpse of a very big fish in the ocean just off of Willy's dock. A green "Creature From The Black Lagoon" sea monster will bob its head above the surface to look at you before quickly swimming away.

Nothing in particular seems to trigger this sighting, though it only happens when it is raining. There are theories that this creature might, in fact, be the "merpeople" mentioned by the Wizard when you talk to him at the Summer Luau.

12 Wild Animal Attack

Stardew Valley Barn Sheep Pigs Goats And Ostrich Eggs Truffle Oil

When you own a barn or coop, you have the option to open the doors and allow your animals to roam around outside to feast on grass and enjoy the fresh air. Typically, as long as you have left the door open, your animal friends will head back inside to sleep for the night. However, if you close the door behind them, leaving them outside for the night, a wild animal attack will occur.

This event has a 50 percent chance of doing nothing. Alternatively, you will hear the sound of a dog barking at night. If this happens, in the morning, you'll find that one of your animals has disappeared permanently. Checking on any of the surviving animals will show a message indicating that "something bad happened last night." Keep your chickens close, friends.

11 Your Child Haunts You

Stardew Valley player stands in front of tv in house and a doll is on the screen with text that reads

You might not know that you have the option to "dismiss" a child that you have with either an NPC or another player. To do this, go to the Dark Shrine of Selfishness at the Witch's Hut, where you can offer a Prismatic Shard. This will turn your children into doves, and remove them from the game. However, that is far from the end of it.

After dismissing your children, on the 26th day of Fall, a mystery channel titled "???" on your television will appear. Selecting it brings up an image of an Ancient Doll on the TV screen and with it a message: "You've brought this upon yourself... now I'm free... Hee hee hee!"

The Doll will pop out of the TV and fly away. From then on, when you enter the Witch's Hut, the Ancient Doll will haunt the Dark Shrine and attack you upon entering. Once killed, the Doll will simply turn into a big black bird, taking off. It respawns whenever you re-enter the Witch's Hut as if to remind you of your decision of dismissal.

10 Reach The Summit

Stardew Valley Player Climbing To The Summit With Crow In Autumn

Truly dedicated players may one day reach absolute Perfection, completing hundreds of tasks over the course of many rewarding years playing the game. You'll have to have shipped every crop and found every Stardrop and every Golden Walnut, just to name a few examples.

Once you wake up the day after, you'll receive a message about Grandpa beaming with pride, as well as a rumble in the distance letting you know the Summit has been unlocked for you. In the mountains at the train station, you may notice the rocks have moved to show a path climbing into the clouds. After a brief cutscene, you'll be standing at the top of the world, above the valley itself.

9 Receiving The ??? Hat

Stardew Valley Player Stood In The Volcano Caldera Wearing ??? Hat

Another thing unlocked by true Perfection is a hat, of course. But, this time, it won't be Hat Mouse that awards it to you. You'll need to warp back to Ginger Island to come across this most special hat, and head to the Volcano Caldera right at the top.

If you look closely into the lava you can spot one of the lava monkeys lounging nearby. Interact with it to get your hands on ConcernedApe's face, and finally reach your true form. There are quite a few other hats and masks that can be found throughout the Valley, so stay curious.

8 Crop Fairy

Stardew Valley Crop Fairy Growing Parsnips

Few things are more exciting than being visited by the Crop Fairy. In every season apart from winter, you have a one percent chance of being visited by the Crop Fairy. She will float across your screen when you go to bed, and wave her wand, affecting a 5x5 area.

When you wake up the next morning, all your crops will be fully grown! This event will have no effect, however, if it is raining when the Crop Fairy visits, or if the area affected is only made up of Wild Seeds.

7 The Witch

Stardew Valley Witch flies over coop on a farm during winter

Hearing a witch's cackle is not exactly the most comforting thing to listen to after tucking yourself into bed. Fret not; if you ever catch the Witch riding her broomstick over your farm, count yourself blessed! Having the Witch fly over your farm is a rare one percent chance event, which can either affect one of your Coops or a Slime Hutch. If the Witch flies over a Coop, she will leave a Void Egg inside — stick that baby in an incubator, and it will grow into a little baby Void Chicken.

If you have reached Perfection when this event occurs, the Witch might give you a Gold Egg instead, which, when incubated, will become a Golden Chicken. If the Witch decides to grace your Slime Hutch instead, she will turn all the slimes inside into Black Slimes. They will still keep all the same special properties and drops as the original color of Slime though, so you do not have to worry.

6 Meteorite

Two farmer on horses stand on either side of a purple meteorite in an overgrown farm field

In the middle of the night, you may hear a huge crash. In the morning, a message will pop up: "An explosion was heard in the night...". This random event has a one percent chance of happening, and it will leave a giant purple Meteorite in a 3x3 area of your farm, destroying any crops or paths in that area.

You will need a Gold or Iridium Pickaxe to break this hunk of rock, and your reward will be six Iridium Ore, six Stone, and two Geodes. Unfortunately, depending on where the Meteorite landed, this event can be more of a curse than a boon, especially if it destroyed any crops which were, in fact, worth more than the Meteorite's drop. Oof.

5 See MarILDA Blast Off

Stardew Valley Player Stood Beside Maru And MarILDA Robot During Heart Event

Every bachelor and bachelorette has a unique ten heart event that really showcases their personality and how they've grown through their relationship with you. Maru has always given off slightly mad scientist vibes, and if you manage to court her and visit her home at the right time, you could witness her unveiling an AI robot called MarILDA.

She's been using those Iridium Bars and Cauliflowers to create sentience in her bedroom, and when it emerges into the sunlight, there's a morally intense predicament to oversee. Finally, Maru decides to allow her invention to be free, and you get to watch it fly into outer space, possibly bumping into a UFO on the way.

4 Strange Capsule

Stardew Valley Player Standing Beside Strange Capsules In Winter

We bet you never thought you would be getting any otherworldly visitors to your farm. However, there is a 0.8 percent chance while playing Stardew Valley that a UFO sound will play when you go to bed at night. In the morning, you will be greeted first by a message alerting you to the strange sound, and next by the sight of a Strange Capsule. This bluish, futuristic-looking capsule will appear on a random tile of your farm. If you look closely, it almost appears as though there is something floating inside.

The capsule can be picked up, and the description reads: "There's something fleshy bobbing around in the fluid...". After three days, you will find the capsule glass shattered, the fluid and the shadow inside both gone. From there, you can stumble upon an even rarer event that has a one percent chance of occurring after the Strange Capsule is "broken." A dark creature may be glimpsed around Pelican Town, which is sure to give you quite the shock.

3 Digging Up A Dinosaur Egg

A player stands in a coop filled with dinosaurs and dinosaur eggs

Dinosaur Eggs are some of the most lucrative animal products in Stardew Valley. Particularly because they can be turned into Mayonnaise, which sells for a base price of 800 gold. Unfortunately, Dinosaur Eggs are also some of the hardest animal products to come across.

There are a couple of different ways to find them, but perhaps the least likely method is to dig one up in an Artifact Spot. The Mountain is also the only area in the game with Artifact Spots with the potential to harvest Dinosaur Eggs.

2 Stone Owl

Stardew Valley player stands below a Stone Owl which appeared in their animal pen

You will see and hear your fair share of crows as you go about your farming business, but there is only a 0.5 percent chance that you might hear an owl cooing in the night after you retire to bed. This is because it is one of the rarest events in Stardew Valley.

The next morning, you are sure to find a Stone Owl statue on a random tile of your farm. Its description only says: "It's not clear where this came from, but it looks very fine." That's it. The Stone Owl does not have any effect on you or your farm. It is merely a quiet visitor that decided to grace your farm.

1 UFO Sighting

Stardew Valley Earnings Screen UFO Sighting

There are a few different things you can get a glimpse of on your Profit Screen at the end of the day, including a Santa sighting on the night of the 24th of winter. If you are extremely lucky, you can catch a peek at a different kind of flying object.

With only a 0.001 percent chance of appearing, spotting the UFO drifting across your Profit Screen is the rarest random event that can occur in Stardew Valley. If you are one of the lucky few who have viewed the flying saucer, you should consider yourself special indeed.
