Streamers are strange creatures. Who knows why they do what they do? They work in mysterious ways that somehow garner them a lot of views and even a fan following. When they're not streaming games, they're calling each other out, getting crypto scammed, or organising boxing matches against each other.
While these boxing matches are usually just for fun, streamer Hasan almost got into an actual fight with that kid who invaded the stage at The Game Awards, Matan Evan. It seems the invader likes making a name by inserting himself into situations that have nothing to do with him and just trolling the people involved.
Yesterday, Hasan was at the site of the Writers Guild Strike, explaining the situation to his followers. When, out of nowhere, Matan appeared holding up a sign that read, "We love Landlords." We obviously don't expect someone who makes a name out of crashing events to understand why there is a strike, but it's evident that he was just being contrarian for the publicity.
Matan went on to say that he and the other person he was with were there in support of landlords and against unions. Hasan played it cool, and didn't respond to this goading, even after Matan asked him for a handshake. He then went on to repeat every word that Hasan said to the camera. Unfortunately for everyone involved, that's not where the altercation ended.
The two then took their squabble to Twitter, with Hasan Quote Tweeting Matan's video along with the caption, "[Alright] nvm maybe children DO deserve the coal mines." A pretty wild statement from someone who just covered a union strike. Matan replied with," You should’ve told me that to my face instead of standing there frozen."
"I asked you to step aside politely for the adults to picket and you said I was threatening you, I can't be the father you never had little buddy," continued Hasan. But Matan got in the last word, saying, "You tried to scare me by getting in my face, then you shoved a pole at me like a little bitch. I asked if you were threatening me because of how pathetic you looked. There’s a reason your cameraman panned away."
Matan provided a statement to Kotaku about the incident:
"From a logical perspective, there’s so many problematic world catastrophe things going on year-round [unintelligible]. People are not paying enough attention to these problems. You know they’re going out to the store, buying energy drinks, they’re going to their home and turning the AC, but they’re not even thinking about how that’s going to affect all the animals in the ocean…”
He then denied that this statement was referring to climate change.
