Indiefoxx hasn't even had her Twitch account back for two weeks, and she's already getting pulled into one of the platform's biggest scandals that took off while she was away: fake explicit material. Just a day before her big return stream, Indiefoxx revealed that someone tried to blackmail her with AI-generated nude images, threatening to release them if she didn't send them money.
This is incredibly similar to the deepfake porn scandal that took place during her almost two-year ban from Twitch, in which women on the platform found that adult sites were creating nude videos and images with their likeness, without their consent. Now, the rise in the use of AI is adding another way for abusers to harass women on Twitch - something which the law hasn't caught up with.
"So today, someone tried to blackmail me for money, threatening to leak AI-generated nudes of me," says Indiefoxx (spotted by Dexerto). "I'm not kidding sadly..."
This is similar to the experience that fellow streamers QTCinderlla, Sweet Anita, Pokimane, and many others went through when an adult deepfake site went viral late last year. This was after another streamer, Atrioc, inadvertently revealed that he had visited the site, having left the tab open on his stream.
Atrioc apologised for the incident, but said he only visited the site out of "morbid curiosity". Despite this, he had actually paid to visit the site, although he said this was a one-time occurrence.
Following this, QTCinderella threatened legal action against the deepfake site. This prompted the owner to apologise and take the site offline.
Just as the dust settled on this, it seems that another abuser to hoping to capitalise on Indiefoxx's successful return to Twitch. Thankfully, Twitch's recent ban on deepfake material extends to AI-generated content, so there would hopefully be swift action against anyone using the platform to promote this material.
There's no word on who this blackmailer could be, or how Indiefoxx dealt with the matter. But regardless, the streamer didn't let it ruin her big Twitch relaunch, as she managed to hit 17,000 viewers. This was also outside of her usual category of hot tub streams, making the feat even more impressive for someone who's been out of the game for one year and nine months.
