Here are the video game movies and television adaptations that you can expect to see coming up. Return often to check for updates on your favorite projects!
Upcoming Movies
Movies based on video games are always a bit controversial; they're two very different art forms and trying to adapt one into the other is no simple task. However, some have been surprisingly beloved by fans of their franchises! These are the ones you can look forward to, this year and beyond.

Recently Released Television Shows And Movies
Twisted Metal
Peacock
Twisted Metal sounded like a strange one for a television adaption from the jump, but Peacock's big dual casting of Anthony Mackie and Will Arnett's been enough to turn a few heads. Though some of those heads mainly turned in anticipation of a veritable car crash, Twisted Metal's clocking in pretty OK critically, with a 68 percent on Rotten Tomatoes next to a 90 percent Audience Score.
Don't get us wrong, we know there's more to a show than what other people think. But hey, maybe tune this one in for an episode, see what you think!
The Super Mario Bros. Movie
Box Office
The Super Mario Bros. Movie is a classic example of a critic-and-general-audience disconnect. That's not to say there aren't critics who love the film, nor do we mean there are zero casual moviegoers who abhor it. But looking at its Rotten Tomatoes score paints a picture - a 58 percent Rotten from critics and a 96 percent Audience Score. Wow!
This nostalgia-filled film is also smashing box office records for video game film adaptations, which is ultimately going to be a heck of a lot more important to all parties involved as an inevitable sequel is prepped.
Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves
Box Office
It might not be lighting the charts aflame with Magic Missile the way The Super Mario Bros. Movie is, but Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves appears to be performing quite nicely not just with general audiences, but critics as well. It's a more unified positive reception, and we don't mean to say it's doing badly commercially - it's just not the slam-dunk Illumination's plumber is pulling off.
Paramount has a good thing going here, and we hope to see more from this cast.
The Last of Us
HBO
The Last of Us has set a new high bar in television adaptation, not only performing stunningly well among critics but truly seizing the hearts and minds of the mainstream. Recent ratings reports straight from famed aggregate aficionados Nielsen show The Last of Us outperforming even House of the Dragon. Wild.
