At the start of your Honkai: Star Rail journey, you'll first solve a crisis on the Herta Space Station involving the Antimatter Legion and a Doomsday Beast. Once you've saved the planet, you will board the Astral Express and embark on a journey to visit multiple planets and reduce the effect of Stellarons on them.
Your second destination will be Jarilo-VI, a snow-filled planet where humanity has been pushed back to the city of Belobog. You must figure out the true culprit behind this crisis and defeat them to bring peace back to Belobog.
Before You Reach Jarilo-VI
At the end of Herta Space Station story, you have to talk to Himeko to board the Astral Express. Once you're in the Express, you'll meet Pom-Pom, the conductor. There'll be a short quest where you'll go to Dan Heng's and March's rooms to talk to them. When you don't find March in her room, you'll head back to the main lobby.
Here, Pom-Pom will mention that the Express is ready to jump to the next planet. While everyone else straps in, March will stand up and try to balance herself during the jump. Once you get to the planet, Welt will ask you to talk to Dan Heng. You'll learn that the low temperature on the planet might be because of a Stellaron.
You'll find this word familiar since Kafka placed a Stellaron inside the main character at the start of the game.
Dan Heng and March 7th will be accompanying you on this planet. There'll be a cute conversation between the three characters before they head down to Jarilo-VI.
Entering The Planet
Once you reach Jarilo-VI, Dan Heng mentions that it might be hard to solve the crisis here. Although, March seems confident that nothing can stop you since the Trailblazer has a Stellaron and the other two characters also have their special powers. As you follow along the path, you'll find Sampo hiding in a snow pile.
He'll mention that he was afraid that you're one of the Silvermane Guards. He has a charming personality even though he comes across as a massive scammer from the get-go. He mentions that the Silvermane Guards are getting deployed to the front line for some reason, which is an important thing to remember for the rest of the quest.
He also mentions that the only civilization on the planet resides in the city of Belobog, and Silvermane Guards are like the police of that city. Sampo will then offer to guide you to the city, but your path will be blocked by the guards. Once you defeat the first set of enemies, Gepard will come into battle and you'll have to fight him.
While you're fighting, the slippery Sampo will make a quick escape, leaving you alone in the hands of Silvermane Guards.
As you're about to defeat Gepard, he'll learn that you're not Sampo's accomplices and you don't even belong to Belobog. Gepard will be intrigued after you give him some pictures, and he'll agree to present you before the Supreme Guardian of Belobog. On the way, Gepard will give you the lore of Jarilo-VI.
About 700 years ago, the Antimatter Legion set the planet on fire, and everything was burning. With all this, the Eternal Freeze dropped on the planet out of nowhere. Ever since then, Belobog is the only city that managed to get past the crisis. A group of people called the Architects built Belobog, and they follow the Aeon of Preservation, Qlipoth.
Meeting The Supreme Guardian
As you follow Gepard, he'll take you to the entrance of Qlipoth Fort, which is where the Supreme Guardian Cocolia Rand resides. Gepard will take you into the fort where you'll see Cocolia talking to Bronya. It will look like the latter is quite angry with something. Once Gepard leaves as well, Cocolia will ask you the reason for your visit.
You'll have a chat with her where she mentions that she remembers people like you visiting the planet in the past. Following that, the Trailblazers will talk about how the Stellaron has affected Belobog and Jarilo-VI as a whole. Once Dan Heng mentions that they can seal the Stellaron, Cocolia will arrange for your accommodations overnight.
Once the party leaves the room, you'll hear a whisper in the Qlipoth Fort, and Cocolia will talk back to it in quite a suspicious manner.
Before you head to the assigned hotel, you'll have to go to three different places. You'll meet Pela and Serval in the first two areas, while the third one will show you an NPC fighting with the guards to get inside a restricted area. After this, you can rest at Goethe Hotel for the night and prepare yourself for the next morning.
While you're sleeping, you'll hear teenage Cocolia's voice as she talks to the Stellaron again. The next morning will start a whole world of trouble for the Trailblazers.
The Betrayal Begins
The Trailblazers head out of the hotel in the morning, only to be greeted by many Silvermane Guards and Bronya herself. Dan Heng will understand that they plan to arrest the Trailblazers, and you can't let it happen no matter what. As soon as they see a chance, they dash past the guards and enter a Fragmentum Portal to the restricted area.
Bronya will also decide to charge right in after the Trailblazers to honor Cocolia's orders. Inside the Fragmentum, you have to find a way outside without alerting the pursuers of your location. You'll have to fight many monsters and open a ton of doors to keep going. Although, you'll eventually go right into the enemy's ambush, triggering a battle with Bronya.
Once you're about to defeat Bronya, a cutscene will trigger where Dan Heng and March 7th ask each other to show their secret powers. Although, before either of them can do anything, Sampo comes into the scene and throws smoke bombs everywhere. This scene cuts to Cocolia talking to the Stellaron once again.
She'll mention that plenty of people will suffer and perish because of a certain 'order', and the people of the underworld will think of her as a Tyrant. The Stellaron's manipulation is clear at this point, and you're aware that the Supreme Guardian herself is standing between you and solving the Stellaron crisis.
The Journey Of Underground Belobog
You'll pass out from the smoke produced by Sampo, and you'll wake up in a hospital where you can talk to Natasha. She'll mention that your condition isn't serious, and you're all good to explore the underground Belobog. You'll also learn that Wildfire is like the Silvermane Guards of the Underground and they can save you from trouble.
While talking to Natasha, you can learn that many people descended into the underground to look for Geomarrow, an ore that keeps the city above warm. People felt like it was an honor to be someone working in these mines before they were sealed off from the surface and all the Silvermane Guards in the Underground also went away.
Once you head out, you'll see March talking to a bunch of kids, and one of them is Hook. These kids call themselves a group called "The Moles", and you have to win a hide & seek game with them to get some information on Dan Heng's whereabouts. Once you win the game, they'll take you to a fighting arena.
In the arena, you'll see Dan Heng about to fight a couple of robots. Join him and defeat these enemies to continue the story. After the victory, you'll find Sampo behind a building and try to interrogate him. He'll make up another story and somehow convince you to not beat him up. Instead, he'll try to get you into a meeting with the Wildfire.
Follow the quest up a few stairs and you'll find Bronya in trouble. As you attempt to help her, Seele will intervene and save her. The vagrants will run away as soon as they see her, and you'll see quite an interesting back-and-forth between Bronya and Seele. They'll each try to tell the other how the people on their side have suffered.
Once again, Sampo will help you convince her and stop March from blabbering everything in front of the Wildfire girl.
In the Great Mine, you'll be going against a bunch of vagrants who've taken over the area with hostility. Seele will also tell you that many mines in the Underground have been ruined with Fragmentum corrosion. While you're trying to reach deeper into the mine, you'll find a device that'll help you make your way forward.
Once you remove a cart blocking your way, you'll have to fight an Automaton Direwolf, one of the robots belonging to Svarog. After defeating it, you can find Clara and Svarog deeper into the mines, right beside the main Geomarrow vein. As you try to reason with him, you'll eventually have to fight another Automaton.
Svarog is a robot who's trying to save Belobog from conflict, but he lacks human emotions. All his decisions are based only on stats, and he refuses to see the argument you're presenting. As Svarog gets away, you'll be able to meet Oleg, the chief of Wildfire. After heavy debate, Oleg will be ready to assist you and arrange for your stay in yet another hotel.
The dialogues here will mention that Svarog has been alive for many years. He's the only person who will remember the Stellaron's location.
Although, Svarog refuses to cooperate with the Wildfire as he sees them as a threat, but it might be different for the Trailblazers.
At the hotel, Bronya will decide to keep watch for the night because of what happened the last time you slept in a hotel. During the night, you'll hear Cocolia's conversation with the Stellaron again. It will ask her to do something to her daughter (Bronya) and that she waits for her on the other side.
Since you can't sleep, you'll decide to take a walk with Bronya. During the walk, you'll find Seele and Natasha talking about some medicines in Rivet Town. The latter will ask you to aid Seele to get medicines from Rivet Town since the area is swarmed with Fragmentum monsters. Seele will still have a lot of hostility towards Bronya.
While looking for materials in Rivet Town, you'll notice that a kid named Eric stole them and risked his life. He'll mention that he needs Shields (currency) for his father, and Bronya will give him the badge she has since it can fetch him a good price. Eric will let you have all the medical supplies while he makes his way back.
As you get to the orphanage for supplies, you'll learn that Bronya might've been a part of this orphanage before she was adopted by Cocolia to be the next Supreme Guardian. Bronya will also start doubting herself after seeing the Underground's suffering, but Seele will stop her and comfort her in the special Seele way.
You'll also meet Clara while you're looking for these supplies, and Seele will agree to give her a few of them.
Once the supplies are handed over to Natasha, you'll take Sampo's help to get to the area where Svarog resides. Going through a small puzzle will let you into the area. As expected, the robots won't let you go in and you'll have to find Clara. Save her by defeating the Blaze Out Of Space monster but she'll still refuse to take you to Svarog.
Once Clara leaves, Dan Heng will mention that Svarog's calculations might be correct, but he didn't take some variables into account, Trailblazers being the variables in question. Catch up to Clara and tell her about the variable after fixing a machine, and she'll finally agree to take you directly to Svarog.
Unfortunately, Svarog will mention that all human attempts to find the Stellaron have come from greed. You'll have to battle the big robot if you want to get your point across. This will be quite a difficult battle, but Sampo will bring Natasha to help you in between. Although, this will agitate Svarog even further.
After being defeated and Clara making a special wish, Svarog will give you the location of the Stellaron. The transmissions from Svarog will reveal the following things:
- An old researcher already figured out that Stellaron was the cause of the Eternal Freeze, but the Guardian at that point refused to make the report public because of the outburst it might cause.
- You'll also learn that Alisa Rand, one of the most famous Guardians of Belobog, was the reason for the Eternal Freeze since she activated the Stellaron.
- After many years, a small researcher asks the discoverer of Stellaron why they can't make the research public. The Old Researcher will once again mention that it'll all be worth it when they find how to destroy the Stellaron.
- Finally, you'll find out that another Guardian found the robot left by the initial researchers. She asks the guards to retrieve the information inside the robot and reset it.
Once the transmissions are played out, Natasha will ask you to talk to her and she'll reveal that she's none other than the leader of Wildfire. She'll also mention that Seele wishes to accompany the Trailblazers back to the surface as they attempt to put an end to Cocolia's tyranny. The underground arc will come to an end soon after that.
Solving The Stellaron Crisis
On your final day in underground Belobog, you'll find out that Bronya already left to confront the guardian herself. The entire group will then decide to follow suit, though it won't be an easy journey. Before you go back to the surface, you'll see a dialogue between Cocolia and Bronya where she takes her to learn the truth. You'll see that Bronya started hearing the Stellaron as well.
Once you get to the surface, you'll head over to talk to Serval. She'll sneak you into the shop before any Silvermane Guard finds out. You'll learn that Serval was part of the Architects but Cocolia ejected her, and she doesn't stand with her anymore. You'll also learn that she was quite close to Cocolia before she started changing.
Serval will tell you that you'll have to get past Silvermane Guard Restricted Zone and a bunch of Fragmentum monsters to get to where Cocolia took Bronya. She'll also mention that she's grown close to the guards in the Restricted Zone and can get you past them. Although, Gepard will enter the shop before you all leave.
He'll almost find out the hiding members while wandering in the shop. Although, Serval will stop him and he'll respect her boundaries. Once Gepard leaves, the party will get to the Restricted Zone. Serval will get you past a bunch of guards but the guard in front of the main control room will refuse.
Serval will attempt to get permission from Dunn, but he'll catch her red-handed in her lies. This will lead to a battle between the Trailblazers and Dunn. You'll get the required key after defeating Dunn, but the alarm will sound and the guards will stay alert. After getting to the main gate, you'll have to battle Gepard once again.
After defeating him, you'll show him the letter left by Bronya in the Underground. Gepard will finally agree to side with you and let you get to Cocolia, but Serval will stay behind this time, even though she wanted to see the Stellaron herself. This is where your final journey to solve the Stellaron Crisis begins.
As the Trailblazers get to the Fragmentum area, you'll hear a dialogue in the Astral Express where Welt wants to help them out.
Himeko will mention that we should be left alone and they can only offer some outside assistance.
As you're trying to find your way to Cocolia and Bronya, you'll see many memories of their conversations because of the Fragmentum. These memories will reveal the following:
- The first echo will see Cocolia mentioning that Alisa Rand led the first army against the Antimatter Legion at this location. She'll mention that Belobog needs to embrace destruction to fulfill the Stellaron's promise.
- In the second echo, Cocolia downplays both the Aeon Qlipoth and the previous Guardians for not being able to see the future foretold by the Stellaron.
- Cocolia will start sounding evil in the third echo, which is at the location where Alisa Rand fought. You'll learn that Alisa's wish was what brought the Eternal Freeze.
As you get to the fourth Echo, you'll realize that Cocolia has recognized your presence. You'll have to fight the Echo to progress in the quest. Finally, you'll be able to get to the top of Everwinter Hill where Cocolia attempts to force the Stellaron's mindset on Bronya. The party will stop her, but you'll have to battle the real Cocolia who possesses the Stellaron.
First, you'll have to fight a bunch of Fragmentum monsters while a giant machine attacks you. Once you defeat three waves of enemies, the "outside assistance" mentioned by Himeko will arrive and break the machine's arm. This will lead to a beautiful cutscene where the Trailblazer gets to the top of the robot with everyone's help.
Although, you'll be alone against Cocolia herself, so you have no chance of winning this battle. After losing, you'll see the Trailblazer get impaled and brought back down, but the scene will cut to the Trailblazer reaching a different universe. This is the same universe where you came during the Doomsday Beast fight in Herta Space Station.
As you try to get to the center, you'll see multiple memories of Cocolia changing as she makes wrong decisions with Gepard, Serval, and finally Bronya. You'll also see a point where Cocolia actually interacted with the Stellaron and made the Silvermane Guards suffer. Once you get to the middle, you'll see a kid.
This is the Guardian's Will. They'll mention the fall of Belobog and the increase of Fragmentum over time. When you say that you're willing to help, they'll ask you to touch the light of the Amber, which is the Sword in the middle. This will give Trailblazer a new path and combat style (Preservation and Fire respectively). You'll see yet another beautiful cutscene before another fight against Cocolia.
Except this time, you'll actually have all the help you need. When you win, you'll see Cocolia getting engulfed by the Stellaron as her own daughter watches. Bronya will decide that she doesn't want to reveal the truth to the people of Belobog. Instead, she wants to tell everyone that Cocolia bravely fought the Stellaron and lost her life to it.
Before you finish the story of Jarilo-VI, Bronya will mention that the planet is saved and they can slowly start rebuilding now. She'll also reunite Belobog and open up the passage between the surface and underground. Belobog still has a long way to go, and Welt mentions that they have a low chance of surviving, but there's hope.
With this, your second expedition as the Trailblazer will come to an end, and you'll head back to the Astral Express to get some rest.
